Louisville flood of 2018

For the past few days, we have been under a Flash Flood Warning. The Ohio River has been rising. This is not an unusual thing that happens in Louisville because the river tends to overflow. However, they are calling this the worst flood Louisville has seen in over 20 years. With the rain that we got Saturday, 2/24/2018, the river rose 20 feet above normal levels. I was able to go out and see the damage. Now I do not remember the flood of 97 because I was 3 years old, but what I saw was pretty devastating . People's homes were engulfed in water, their back yards covered. Some houses are on high rises, so they are semi-prepared for this. However, if they were in their homes, they had to have been stranded. There was no way they could get out unless it was by boat. The photos below were taken with my phone, because I did not plan on going out. Nevertheless, I am glad I did.
