The Beginning

A little bit about me..

 I am in graduate school for Social Work. Hoping that one day I will change the world! Since my field of work isn't always the happiest, I like to take pictures to make up for that. I have enjoyed taking photos ever since I was little. I remember always wanting a new camera for Christmas. I recently moved out of my parents house and as I was going through my things I found that I had about 3 of those Nikon Coolpix cameras from 2007. Each of them filled with SD cards that consisted of photos of my friends/family, my stuffed animals, my room, my neighborhood, and of course some selfies! A lot like back then, my photos today don't really have a constant theme or subject. I like to take photos of whatever I think looks cool or catches my eye.

 I have created this page so I can show the world my photos! I really wanted a place to show off my pictures versus having them as my screensaver on my desktop. A lot of the work I will post on here is from throughout the years and from wherever this journey of life takes me. I am very experimental with my photos, meaning I like to play around with the settings on my camera and different camera angles. With that being said, I am not a professional by any means! There are still so many things my camera does that I don't know about.

 I take photos when I have the time and really just for my own entertainment. I have assisted some friends photographing special events, but I have never done it on my own. For right now I don't plan to take on any special events. I do not have the equipment and being in graduate school, I don't have the time either. However, eventually I would love to see myself doing that as a hobby.

 I may also post some of my artwork along with my photos. I have had this goal of mine for about 5 years now that I want to draw my photos. I haven't really done anything to complete this goal, but I'm hoping I will in the future!

 So stay posted and hopefully you will like my work. I'm always up for suggestions from fellow photographers/artists as well!

DISNEY WORLD!! Thank you Orlando, Florida for your blistering hot days, sunshine, and down pour! I wouldn't have traded that experience for anything else! (Almost) my entire family went to Disney over Fall break and needless it say, IT WAS AMAZING! It was like being a kid all over again! The last time I went to Disney I was about five years old, so I don't remember much. Luckily, I got to take a BUNCH of photos, so I will never forget! I am so excited about this, if you can't tell ! You all, prepare yourself!! Louisville flood of 2018

For the past few days, we have been under a Flash Flood Warning. The Ohio River has been rising. This is not an unusual thing that happens in Louisville because the river tends to overflow. However, they are calling this the worst flood Louisville has seen in over 20 years. With the rain that we got Saturday, 2/24/2018, the river rose 20 feet above normal levels. I was able to go out and see the damage. Now I do not remember the flood of 97 because I was 3 years old, but what I saw was pretty devastating . People's homes were engulfed in water, their back yards covered. Some houses are on high rises, so they are semi-prepared for this. However, if they were in their homes, they had to have been stranded. There was no way they could get out unless it was by boat. The photos below were taken with my phone, because I did not plan on going out. Nevertheless, I am glad I did. Family photos with a toddler

Who ever said that would be easy!! This was my first gig at taking family photos. Of course I picked the 'good' ones to show you guys, but I probably took about 100. The toddler definitely ran the whole session. Needless to say, it was very much fun working with this family. Plus this day was a beautiful day for a walk in the park!
